Y housing for IGUS 8 mm bearings with lubricator : ) www.thingiverse.com/thing:2648067I separated the piece in 2 parts: -part 1: the housing for IGUS 8mm (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5pcs-Reprap-Prusa-Medel-3D-Printer-Solid-Polymer-LM8UU-Linear-Bearing-8mm-shaft-RJMP-01-08/32806123772.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.9T6O1T) -part 2: the lubricator (it allows a standard oil spray tube 2mm diameter - I use WD40 spray) It is easier to print in 2 parts. After printing you can glue the lubricator part to the housing part. I printed with PET-G and used cheap SuperGlue to glue the parts. In my opinion it works mutch better than the original bearings (reduced noise, smoother movement). Please feel free to improve my design.

I like it. My bearings are making tons of noise.

Hello. I totally agree with you: aluminium is always better than plastic printed housing. This was just an experiment with printed housings + IGUS. Maybe I will put aluminium housings + IGUS. I agree the 4 bearings solution, it is obviosly the most stable system.. Anybody here use linear guide rails ? Thanks.

Well, I've never really seen the need for aluminum lm8uu bearing housings myself. Imo they are not under any load, nor do they experience any clamping or torque force(as long as your rails are parallel). But igus bearings are a different story. They must be slightly compressed to function properly. Aluminum housings i feel are mandatory here.

Ralf's ali plate was set up for the sc8uu, so it was an option I was happy to go with, I agree with the loading, but they are so much quieter and tighter than the stock DMS part, that I am happy with the result. And there is a definite increase in print quality, maybe because of the tighter movement or the 4 bearings stopping a slight lateral shift.
