I had a problem recently where the laptop I had been using for Cura since I got my DP5 started to act up. The sliced objects would just disappear, then the scale was off by about 10%. While looking up possible solutions to these problems I also installed Matter Control on my new main computer which is a Mac and got it working enough to start 3D printing again. I'm haven't got the USB connection working so I'm still manually moving files over and something is weird in my start up instructions as it warms up the bed, then does the level routing then stops to warm the extruder which seems odd but works just the same.
My early results with Matter Control are very positive, I like the hex infill pattern as it looks strong and I like the Z axis retraction which seems to have eliminated all the stringing problems I was plagued with. Matter control also seems to drive the steppers differently as something sounds new with the motors and I think it's printing much faster but we'll see as I've prepared some files of the same models sliced on both programs.
To get Matter Control working I copied the start and end code over from Cura and readjusted the Z sensor, that's it.
Any others have experienced good results with Matter Control?
