Hi everybody, it's already a few months I'm printing with our DMS DP5 but I've always had a doubt. In almost all of your photos, I see that on your bed you have the adhesive tape (normally in light blue color) while I'm still using the default black bed. What type of adhesive tape is it? What benefits does it bring? Thanks in advance

Hello. I also used the black PVC mat sticker that came with the printer. I used it until it cracked so I had to replace it with some blue paper tape. Blue paper mask tape has a few advantages: ensures a good first layer adhesion for many filament types (I use also some solid glue on the blue tape and works perfect for PLA, ABS, nylon, PETG), is easy to remove and replace, is cheap. I tryed also white paper tape but it is not good. In general blue paper mask tape is made for exterior use in constructions and has a stronger adhesive side.

Masking tape is cheap, but effective. I prefer Elmer glue stick myself, it leaves the bottom of the print a little smoother, and is a lot easiw r to remove and re apply. Cleans up with alcohol. Windex works the best at cleaning it off, but I re ad ammonia corroded aluminum, so I do not recommend using it on the bare bed to clean up glue stick. Hair spray is another quite common option. A little easier to apply, but I ale at A worry about overspray getting on the rails and electronics. Prob over cautious though. In the end it really comes down to what works for you

I have been using the build surface supplied, they are easy to replace and as long as you have your heights right adhesion is excellent. I believe they are on special at the store, in fact the last lot I got it was buy 3 get 1 free or buy 5 get 2 free. It all comes down to personal preference in the end.

I get the blue tape from the local house paint store, it's 3M brand. I also use Elmer's Children's Glue Stick for extra adhesion. Seems to work for me. I still have the factory mat in the box, the people I first saw printing used the blue tape and I followed them.
