Hi, My name is Brian and I'm the moderator of this board. I've ordered a DP5 over two weeks ago and I expect it to arrive this Friday. I'm building a CNC router and found that I needed to make some parts but I don't have access to a machine shop anymore and I'm new in the area I live in and don't know anyone with any machine tools. I figured getting a 3D printer would allow me to make the brackets and mounts I need to finish my CNC router and when I had that working I could make metal parts to improve my 3D printer. Does that sound strange?
I'm originally from Canada but I moved to Cleveland, Ohio to be with my wife who has a job she loves here. We live near Lake Erie about forty minutes East of downtown Cleveland in a smaller town with our cat Ruthie.
I like to build things and play music.
-Brian

Yo
3d printing meathead here. Got some review and tutorials on the dp5 I hope to log here, as well as some upgrade recommendations.
Had my printer for about 2 months now. It's my first one, and the way this thing is built, it could be my last one. Hope to share my projects here, and am willing to help those having trouble.

Hi, Meathead brought me.
I own a DP5. This is my second 3D Printer, my first was an Ultimaker 2 which I had for about a year before I sold it.
Looking forward to the community, I have made a few upgrades to my printer, but nothing substantial. It prints well, but not immediately out of the box. I ended up loading a fresh version of Marlin with mostly re-written config to get it printing up to my standards.

Hi, my Name is Ralf and i have a DP5 since 3 Months, had the same small issues (G Code, Autolevel,y-Endstop). Overall the Printer runs very well and i my opinion it was a good coice. My next upgrade will be a better bracket for the y-axis Motor, the original thin sheetmetal bracket is to flexible. I'm from Germany and my english is not realy good...... Thanks for start this forum and i'm looking forward to share our ideas.....

It's a good feature to get your y belt to track perfectly centered on the pulleys, but it can move on ya. I did check up on some steel upgrade designs but they're not quite right, I'll post a new thread in the upgrades section on my thoughts. Thanks for joining!

Hi, my name is Jason. Just set up my DP5. Used many 3D printers, really like the $$$ value and results so far. Great that an effort has been made for this forum, Thanks! Jason
Have an issue already, 'Home' not behaving. I've read all articles on this in the forum so hopefully sort it out soon.

Did you check the "Help" section, there are a couple similar problems listed there and you're welcome to start a new thread if you don't find what you need. Cheers, Brian.

Hi ! New user here ! My name is Carlos, spanish and little english and purchase this printer looking meathead videos, came here from aliexpress feedback comments. the Y endstop switch is broke but i solder the spare, my X endstop switch is not a "click" like a i wanted but works, I think that the carriage Y and the carriage X being fully assembly and functional move freely during shipment path, repeatedly hitting the switches with force, they are an extremely delicate piece. The carriages should be attached to the packaging as in traditional printers. The commands for autoleveling that came in the instructions dont work with my printer. G28 X0 Y0 ;move X/Y to min endstops G28 Z0 ;move Z to min endstops but the commands that came with Zxianwei.gcode do the autoleveling fine: G28 G29 and my LCD READS , "X 9" "Y-25" Z"0.8" when i run autohome i hope to share the experiences with this 3D Printer. Thanks for this forum and all people here.

Hi my name is Alec, live in New Zealand, just got a DP5 delivered on Friday, total noob to 3D printing, I set up a Raspberry PI NAS with a 2.5" usb drive and thought I'd like to make an enclosure that housed everything and found the DP5 was great value for money, just didn't realize how steep the learning curve was going to be, but it seems I'm just about at the top of that curve now. This forum has been really helpful so thought I'd stop being a guest and join up, only problem left to solve is the extrusion not working, seems there is a problem with the stepper, so I'll find out how good the after sales service is. A big thanks to all of you for the great information that led me to fix the homing issues. I agree with you Carlos it seems that things are moving freely during the shipping, which has lead to the endstops being damaged for me it was the Y stop which I had to replace. It was the information here though that helped me to solve these issues. Thanks guys.

Hello to all. My name is Ciprian, hydromechanical engineer, live in Romania. I have a DP4 since october 2016. I did some improvement: 3mm aluminium plate under the heated bed, E3D original hotend, antibacklash nuts for z axis, motor damper on x axis, frame reinforcement with metal corners, auto shut off (with a simple 5 v relay and a limit switch on y axis). Thank you for sharing stuff.
