I just had my heated bed off to get at the limit switch, while there it was noticed that those LM8UU bearings are crap. Tons of wobble and odd scrapy noises. Years ago I use to work on this lab recorder, the pen used the same kind of bearing and it moved as smooth as can be, of course in those days they must have used better bearings. My question is does everyone else have the same crap bearings and does it matter? I've had a quick look on ebay and it looks like all that is available is the same made in china ones I already have. There is also a longer one the LM8UUL that I think will fit, wonder if it's any better.

Just order a few extras. Very important to pack the bearings with a little grease though. I use lithium grease, but you can use whatever you want. Better than no grease. Don't add too much, just a dab. I was told this but in true meathead fashion, I didn't listen, so I'm still spewing grease everywhere as I print. The bearing doesn't have to be all that great, as long as it feels pretty smooth when you slide it back and forth.

After seeing how loose my bed is I checked them all and the bed ones are the worst. These ones look good, anyone try them?

I wouldn't use the polymere bushings, they have a higher breakaway torque with ist in my opinon not the best choice for short and fast movements. I could recoment these: It could be possible that all dimensions are the same like the ones we have on the DP5. Those China bushings have often a bad quality, noises are not a problem but when you feel roughnes while moving the bushing with your finger they should be replaced....
